Made of 100% Barbera grapes, this is ruby red with pale purple reflections. The bouquet is fruity and complex with scents of blackberry jam and strawberries combined with aromas of tobacco and herbs. In the mouth it has great structure, softness and a very long finish. Express itself best when served with roasted meats, game, pizza, pasta and cheeses. 13.5%vol.

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, Tuscany, Italy £29.95

This Riserva has a firm ruby colour. The nose shows some vanilla, with hints of coffee and toast. These elements integrate nicely with the rest of the wine on the palate, joined by bright cherries and underlying note of finely tanned leather.13%vol.

Wine from family owned vineyard, situated outside Stellenbosh, in the heart of Cape Winelands, producing wines of outstanding quality. Chenin Blanc always seems to fare much better in its youth in South Africa compared to its natural homeland of the Central Loire, where it always needs age to show its true colours. Aromas of tropical fruit abound with pineapple to the fore, and a honeyed, waxy note in the background. On the palate there is crisp, refreshing acidity with a citrus edge to the finish. Delicious as an aperitif, with fried white fish or fusion cooking. 13.5%vol.

Amaro Montenegro. Most popular aperitif in Italy, displays early botanical scents of orange peel, fresh not dried coriander, red cherry, pekoe tea and cucumber.  Palate entry is sweet at first then it quickly turns mildly bitter and botanical by midpalate, there’s a slight sweetness of tangerine/mandarin peel. Aftertaste is moderately bittersweet and citrusy.23 %vol.
Cocalime alcoholic liquor: aperitif, digestive made of coca leaves and lime. 20% vol.
Rosso Antico is an aromatised, lightly fortified wine made from neutral grape alcohol, 32 herbs and spices including sage, thyme, elder, rhubarb, china bark and rosemary. Ruby red in colour, bittersweet on the palate with an aftertaste of peels and spices. It has an alcohol content of 17%.
